Davis CAG Meeting Results

In an effort to facilitate the ongoing construction of Corridor H, the Corridor H Citizen Action Group (CAG) met at 5:30 p.m. on June 5 at the Town Hall in Davis.

According to the West Virginia Division of Highways (WVDOH), the committee, which formed in response to the settlement agreement reached earlier this year, was designed to represent a cross-section of groups in the Davis and Thomas areas whose interests are potentially affected by the location of Corridor H.

State Highway Engineer Joe Deneault said "The CAG's role will be to broaden the opportunities for public involvement for the Thomas-Davis section of the corridor. They will do so by evaluating a range of approaches to resolve any actual or potential conflicts among interested parties and by identifying a particular alternative that is acceptable to all stakeholders".

Questions raised at the meeting by committee members ranged from safety and convenience to accessibility issues of the corridor and were answered by Norse Angus, an environmental specialist with the WVDOH who attended the meeting.

Deneault emphasized WVDOH's commitment to public involvement and commented "The WVDOH values input from the community and encourages citizens to voice their comments as an aid to develop the best possible plan for Corridor H," said Deneault. "With the support of the community, we have been able to move forward with the completion of this vital roadway."
