Citizens Advisory Group Meets

Members of the Corridor H Citizens Advisory Group (CAG) met August 20 in the Davis Town Hall to discuss route alternatives and next steps.

Bill McCartney and Martha DoByns of Michael Baker Jr., Inc., the design consultant for Corridor H, presented a summary of the Supplemental Draft Environmental Impact Survey and reviewed the alternative analysis and screening process.

West Virginia Division of Highways representative Norse Angus and FHWA representative Ed Compton discussed the process of selecting an alignment and the Supplemental Draft Environmental Impact Statement (SDEIS) with the group. According to the West Virginia Division of Highways, the SDEIS is expected to be complete by the first week of October. A 45-day comment period and a public hearing will follow. In addition, a 60-day comment period for the Davis and Thomas city councils to comment separately or jointly will follow and is expected to be complete by January 2003.

A date for the next CAG meeting was not determined.
