Federal Highway Administration Approves
Grant-Tucker Corridor H Plan
Charleston, W. Va. - Gov. Bob Wise today announced that the Federal Highway Administration has issued a record of decision that clears the way for design, right-of-way purchases, and construction of 16.5 miles of Corridor H in Tucker and Grant counties.
The project, which will connect Davis in Tucker County to Bismarck in Grant County, will be another link in the four-lane highway under construction from Interstate 79 to the West Virginia/Virginia state line.
"This action marks the completion of environmental and historic studies on another vital portion of Corridor H," Wise said. It is the last federal action required on this stretch of highway.
The project begins at state Route 93, seven tenths of a mile east of state Route 32 in Tucker County. It ends at state Route 42 in Grant County, just south of the intersection with state Route 42/93.
The West Virginia Division of Highways has information about Corridor H on their Web site, www.wvcorridor.com.
