WVDOH Launches New Sections of
Corridor H Web Site
Charleston, W. Va. The West Virginia Division of Highways (WVDOH) announced today that they have developed two new sections of the Corridor H web site to focus exclusively on the area surrounding the towns of Davis/Thomas and Parsons.
State Highway Engineer Joe Deneault explained, "The sections of Corridor H around Davis/Thomas and Parsons are currently in the early stages of alignment development and we want to make information about this process easily accessible to the public."
According to the WVDOH, the Davis/Thomas section of the web site is intended to inform the communities of Davis and Thomas about how Corridor H will impact them. This part of the site contains sections that announce upcoming meetings of the Corridor H Community Advisory Group (CAG), provides reports of their previous meetings and presents detailed information about the WVDOH's effort to avoid impacting the Blackwater Canyon.
The Parsons section of the Corridor H website provides specific information about the proposed alignments around the town of Parsons. It has been designed to convey information including the dates of upcoming public meetings and a detailed description of Corrick's Ford Battlefield, a Civil War battleground.
In addition, both sections provide comprehensive timelines projecting estimated dates for completion of significant steps in the planning process. They also contain maps of the routes outlining the alignments being studied for each section.
Deneault said, "These sections will make up-to-date information available to anyone who is interested. Informing the public about our efforts is important to the WVDOH and creating these sections illustrates one more facet of our commitment to public involvement."
