WVDOH Awards Construction Contract for Corridor H

Charleston, W. Va. - The West Virginia Division of Highways (WVDOH) today announced a contract was awarded to Kanawha Stone Company, Inc., to construct a portion of the Wardensville-to-Baker section of Corridor H.

The Nitro firm bid $12,891,522 to construct this portion of Corridor H, located just east of the proposed site of a bridge that will cross Lost River near McCauley, from Hanging Rock to County Route 23/8 (Pine Ridge Road) in Hardy County. This is the first construction project to begin on the Wardensville-to-Baker section of Corridor H.

We are very pleased to begin the first construction project of the Wardensville-to-Baker section of Corridor H," Commissioner of Highways Fred VanKirk said. "Construction of the project is expected to begin in about 30 days. Awarding this contract allows us to continue moving toward completion of the highway."
