Governor Underwood, Senator Byrd to Speak at Moorefield Corridor H Event

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Gov. Cecil H. Underwood today announced that U.S. Sen. Robert C. Byrd will join him at a groundbreaking ceremony in Moorefield on Wednesday, May 31 to celebrate construction of the Moorefield to Baker section of Corridor H.

"This is a momentous occasion because we are now going to start construction of Corridor H in the Moorefield area," Gov. Underwood said. "People have been talking about Corridor H in this area for more than three decades, and I am pleased to say we are now taking action to make it a reality. As long as I am governor, I will aggressively pursue the completion of Corridor H."

The groundbreaking ceremony will be held in the field behind the South Branch Valley Inn in Moorefield. Activities will begin at 10:30 a.m. Sen. Byrd will be the keynote speaker at the official ceremony beginning at 11 a.m. A reception sponsored by the West Virginia Department of Agriculture will follow the ceremony. The public is invited to attend.
