Section of Corridor H Set for Construction
The West Virginia Division of Highways (WVDOH) announced that another section of the Corridor H project has been approved for construction. The WVDOH received the amended Record of Decision (ROD) for the Forman to Moorefield section of the project July 27, 2001.
The Federal Highways Administration (FHWA) issued the amended ROD, which is the last federal action necessary for the WVDOH to proceed with final design, right-of-way acquisition and construction of the highway.
The Forman to Moorefield section is 16 miles in length. Construction is expected to start in the late summer of 2002 and will proceed as funding becomes available.
State Highway Engineer Joe Deneault said, "We are extremely pleased that FHWA has issued the amended ROD and that we can move forward in completing this project."
