Community Input Team Conducts Second Public Information Meeting
On December 9, the Wardensville Community Involvement Team conducted the second in a series of public input meetings to inform residents about the status of a $1 million allocation of enhancement funds for the town.
A crowd of almost 100 turned out at the Wardensville War Memorial Building to be informed about the status of the improvement project and take part in a community potluck dinner.
Mayor of the town of Wardensville Jay Crawford opened the meeting by welcoming residents and team members to the dinner. John Sayres, a representative from the Community Involvement Team introduced the committee members to the group and explained the objectives of the team. Facilitator for the improvement team, Pat Ford of Whitney, Bailey, Cox and Magnani, presented the most recent plans for the project and offered examples of projects with successful outcomes and those with ineffective results. Finally, residents were invited to visit three stations of sketches and maps to get a better understanding of the plans for the project and how the team proposes to achieve their objectives.
Michael Miano, assistant to the State Highway Engineer said, "The second meeting was even better attended than the first. I'm really glad that local residents are getting involved in improving their town. It really illustrates the commitment they have to their community."
The next meeting of the Wardensville Community Improvement Team is scheduled for January 16, 2001 at 7:00 p.m. at the Wardensville Meeting Hall. Residents are encouraged to attend and become involved in developing the enhancement plans for the town.
