Wardensville Residents Meet to Discuss Spending of Enhancement Funds
WARDENSVILLE, WV -- A group of involved citizens attended the second Corridor H public meeting hosted by the West Virginia Division of Highways (WVDOH)

on Wednesday, May 31 at the War Memorial Building in Wardensville. The meeting was intended to receive input from Wardensville residents in regards to the disbursement of a $1 million allocation as a result of the recent Corridor H settlement agreement.

State Highway Engineer, Joe Deneault attended the meetings and explained the role that the WVDOH plays to the concerned residents. "We wanted this to be a public process (and for) as many people to be involved as possible. We're excited about this endeavor, it's new territory for us," said Deneault.

Following Deneault's presentation, Special Assistant to the State Highway Engineer, Mike Miano, introduced the appointed mediator for the group, Pat Ford of Whitney, Bailey, Cox and Magnani.

In his presentation, Ford expressed that the preliminary steps are the most critical in the development of a successful plan. Ford then said that he anticipates the Plan to be completed within the next six to nine months and outlined the following five steps that the process will contain:
1)
To identify a "vision" for the committee.
2)
To determine boundaries for the area noticeably impacted.
3)
To categorize assets and liabilities.
4)
To develop a work plan.
5)
To create final program and funding strategies.

Finally, Ford set the agenda for the next committee meeting, which includes setting the ground rules for all public meetings,discussing how to get the community more involved, and setting goals, milestones, and expectations of the group.
