Wardensville Community Improvement Team meets to discuss $1 million allocation
A packed house filled the Wardensville War Memorial Building for a public input/potluck dinner and Wardensville Community Involvement Team meeting September 9. At the meeting, residents discussed how they would spend a $1 million allocation that has been designated for the Wardensville Transportation Enhancement Fund."

"I am very pleased with the meeting's turnout," said Michael Miano, assistant to the state highway engineer. "It is great to see members of the community working together and becoming better informed on ways to spend this allocation. The money provides a wonderful opportunity for community improvements in Wardensville and I hope we all continue to work together toward this goal."

Steve Rhodes, president of the Wardensville Lions Club, began the meeting by welcoming its attendees. Pat Ford, facilitator for the Wardensville Community Improvement Team, and Miano were also at the meeting to help answer questions from members of the group.

After the potluck dinner, the meeting's attendees had the opportunity to visit three different informational stations where they could receive information about ways to use the funds."

We want the community to have a general understanding and agreement on how to spend this money," Ford said. "The group has already met to create a vision of how they want their community to look in the future," he added. "We will use this money to help obtain the vision."

The next Wardensville Community Improvement Team meeting will take place September 19 at the Wardensville Meeting Hall. The meeting will start at 7 p.m. and the WVDOH encourages the public to attend and participate in the development of the enhancement plan.
