The Route - Bismarck to Forman
January - March 2012 Status:
The WVDOH
received approval of the Amended Record of Decision in May 2001. Final design is
underway for the 14.5-mile Bismarck to Forman section in Grant County.
Construction is underway for the entire length of the Bismarck to Foreman section, with only paving contracts remaining to be advertised. The WVDOH opened in October 2010 Corridor H from Knobley Road (Grant CR 3) to Moorefield, however the approximate 3.5-mile section between Knobley Road and Patterson Creek Road (Grant CR 5) is open for "local" traffic only, with "through" traffic utilizing the new interchange of Corridor H and Patterson Creek Road. A 9.35-mile paving contract from Grant CR 1 to Knobley Road to Bismarck (at the top of the hill) is underway and it is anticipated that the first 5.3 miles from Knobley Road to WV 93 will be completed in the fall of 2012 with the remaining 4.05 miles anticipated to be completed by in the fall of 2013.
The WVDOH anticipates that the Bismarck to Forman section of Corridor H may be completed in late 2013.
